Analysis
Where do we start?
A good user interface can come about only by knowing your users, their characteristics and their goals.
The first stage in the design process is analysis. We need to collect information about:
- users - their computer experience, education, physical abilities, culture, motivation, attitude
- tasks - are they variable, repetitive, complex, easy, frequent, infrequent, time critical, do they require individual or collaborative work, what's the workflow?
- environment - noise, stress, safety issues, lighting, availability of training and support.
Using this information we can design a system that meets your customers' needs and is a pleasure to use. And you can be sure that precious development time isn't wasted on features that aren't needed or are too complex.
